My Journal
My Journal is a visual diary during the first months of lockdown in Spain. The indoor and object images have been staged in my home as part of my process to deal with the situation of uncertainty we were all going through. These images are part of «The Journal», a unique collective photography project giving insight into the lives of women* around the world during COVID-19, supporting 400+ participants documenting their intimate stories and growing together as a community. Helped by the circumstances of being confined in my home for the first time in my life, I took this time to reflect on how I have been doing things until now, realizing that a lot of mental patterns weren’t of use anymore. I am not the only person that took the last ten months to look back and understand. I have the feeling that there is a silver lining in the middle of the pain and sorrow of this pandemic. I believe that as humans, we should take this time to rethink the way we have been operating not only towards ourselves but towards the world and the natural resources, and take this as a bright opportunity to start doing things differently.
Yo rezando en mi habitación por la noche. No es fácil encontrar la paz y dormir hoy. Mi mayor temor es que los miembros de mi familia se enfermen.
